World's first fold able smart phones; The concept behind fold able phones

Time to time technology has advanced in many fields. While talking about mobile phones there was a huge evolution. Starting from keypad it has evolved a lot. Years ago we can’t even think of talking to someone who was far away. Then landline was invented, where we can have a fixed phone line for home and communicate with friends and relatives. Later in 2000’s the launch of Mobile phone has made a revolution in the industry and made the communication simpler and easier.

Primarily the mobile phone was a key pad type with gery and white screen. Further evolutions bring camera mobile phone with music players. Then again multimedia versions of Mobile Phones were launched. Later flip type phones with keypad and further touch screen phones. Currently Android Smart Phone and the evolution keep continuing.

Foldable Smartphones

The concept of foldable Smartphones was firstly introduced by Nokia. Probably the world’s first foldable smartphone was nokia morph. Morph was a concept phone, which was introduced to make a remarkable change in the mobile phone industry. This concept smart phone from nokia was launched back in 2008. Earlier than nokia in November 2006. Polymer vision also showed their concept version of foldable smartphone and also in addition to it a role able smart phone at the mobile world congress. Both the smartphone companies showed only the concept version of their smartphones but didn’t really could’ve make it. The nokia morph has three fold design. The technology behind the foldable phone are nanotechnology with which one can fold, stretch the materials (display). One such remarkable feature of this phone was self charging through solar power with use of nano particles screen.

Samsung also in 2013 represented it’s concept version of foldable technology. But they didn’t even showed , they launched the first ever foldable smartphone in November 2018 named Samsung galaxy fold. This is a smartphone with a folding form factor. Some of the concepts use multi screen panels on a hinge, while other design, utilizes a flexible display.

This was really a revolutionary change in smart phones industry. Since now Samsung has launched three foldable Smartphones and a flip phone. Following Samsung some other companies like Huawei also launched their foldable phones. But Samsung is a leader , which leads it’s way. All the foldable Smartphones from Samsung has been a hit.
