What is Engine Oil? What are the applications? What are the Types? How to select the right product for your Engine?

Engine oil are basically oil extracted from crude oil, which are slightly inflammable in nature used in engines for smoother operation, due it is higher viscosity in nature. Nowadays synthetic technology has been introduced in processing the oil, which uses a covalent bonding technology.  Engine Oil are primarily used for the lubricating the shaft / piston movement of the engine. As the engine runs lots fo heat energy is generated due to the frictional movement. Engine oil are basically acts as a medium to reduce the friction between the metal parts and also cools the moving parts by absorbing the heat. Thereby it reduces the wear and tear losses and further enhances the engine performance.  Basically engines are classified into two categories i.e. 2 Stroke and 4 Stroke Engines. Engines with smaller capacities or compact power generators / diesel generators use a two stroke engine, whereas the engines with capacity above 100 cc like motorcycles and scooters uses 4 stroke engin...

What is Mineral Wool? What are the characteristic? What are the advantages and where it is applied?

Mineral wool is made up from fine minerals, basically extracted from rare earth sediments as rock, which are then processed and extruded as thin fibers. The mineral wool is thin tensile fibers which are shredded into pieces and spinned into loose fibers.  The mineral fibers basically possess a tendency of least prone to thermal conduction. The non-conducting nature of these fibers, offers extended thermal insulation. The inherent property of these fibers are basically provides strong retardant for atomic movement / collision, there by offers barrier to thermal conduction. When these fibers are exposed to the heat / fire, possesses inflammable characteristics. These are bio de gradable and possess thermal conductivity as low as 0.028 W/mK.  Process Involved:  The rare earth sediments ( basically rock nature) are extracted from mines and are then cleaned and fed into a furnace, where it Is heated under high temperature, thereby converted molten form. This molted matter is t...

What is Castable Refractory? Where it is applied? What are the applications?

Castable Refractory is the High temperature refractory materials that are made up from rare earth minerals. These castable refractory are composites of Minerals and Oxides of the Minerals. The materials are primarily extracted from the mines as ores and are processed for the end use application. Typically extracted from mines, which possess a characteristic as a barrier for thermal conduction. Basically serves as Thermal Insulators and thus enacts fuel saving.  Heat is the fundamental source of energy for most of process, either in domestic or industrial segment. The most commonly used heat applications in domestic segment is Cooking, Room Heating, Ironing, Hot Water and Drying. In the Industrial segment, it has varied applications in most of the Industries widely as Boilers, Furnace and Dryers. The amount of heat energy consumption is almost equal to the consumption of electricity for any industry and typically we use 1/3rd of our energy utilization as Thermal energy. Fuels like F...
