Different Types of Motherboard used in PC’s

In today’s world everything is online and through computer / laptops only. From Accountant to Businessman everyone uses computer. So we are here sharing you about some information’s to consider while buying a computer.

In a computer Mother Board is the key component. All components in a PC i.e Ram ,processor are connected in a motherboard. It is the brain of the computer. So let us know what are types of mother boards available in today’s technology.

Mini ITX motherboard:

Coming up to the smallest motherboard, the mini ITX motherboard is a 170 mm× 170 mm which was formed by Via Technologies in 2001. Looking at the specifications this is the smallest among all other three motherboards. It needs a power supply less than 100 watts. The processor used ultra low power ×8 6 processor which are soldered to it and cooled by heat sink only. It does not even have cooling fans. It consists of only two USB ports, a serial port and a parallel port. Audio input and output & peripheral component interconnect (PCI) slot that can support two device cards. There is no floppy drive but there is a CD ROM interface. It has two Ram slots.

Micro ATX motherboard:

These motherboards are bigger in size than the mini ATX motherboards micro 80 x 9.6 x 9.6 in. They are designed exactly to be backward compatible with ATX. In this motherboard we get four Ram slots, more USB ports and then mini ATX and R PCI slots which enable you to use graphic cards.

ATX (Standard ATX):

This motherboard is also known as a standard ATX motherboard. Getting more options from the mini and Micromax boards. This motherboard includes all types of ports including HDMI. So this open more ways for the users to upgrade their PC. In this motherboard we get four Ram slots, four to six PCI slots to use graphics cards.

e-ATX Motherboards:

This is the most advanced among the three motherboards. This motherboard enables the users to upgrade to the highest. This motherboard is normally used by high End gamers. This is for those who aren’t satisfied with the normal ones. For those who try to be the best. We get four Ram slots, quad channel, 10 USB ports, sound output is excellent as it got sound amplifier inside it and most important five to seven PCI slots.

While choosing for the right motherboard you must know why you need it.

Motherboard for low budget users: 

Users which are likely to get cheap motherboard can go for mini ITX motherboard. If you are just starting to build a budget PC and you need aren’t too much then you can go for the mini.

Motherboard for budget PC’S: 

Users with standard need can go for the micro ATX motherboard. A micro ATX will be a good choice for the standard users.

High budget PC’s: 

Users with a good gaming need can go for the standard ATX.

For those who can’t set for average or motherboard for high-end gaming? 

For really high end gaming and stuff you can go for e-ATX motherboards. 5 to 7 PCI Slots enables you to use more graphic cards and enhancing your gaming experience.
